At the annual Crunchies awards hosted by Techcrunch on Monday Feb 8th, Slack won the award for Fastest Rising Startup. Stewart Butterfield also won the award for Founder of the Year. Co-Founder Cal Henderson accepted the award in Stewart's absence.
Great piece on how Slack can be used outside of work. Megan Quinn had written a similar piece a while ago and it's great to see such use cases. It'd be interesting to whether Slack pays attention to such use cases or if the focus is going to be on the enterprise for the foreseeable future.
